How to make them:
First choose your treat bag and your pen. I like to choose colors that have a little bit of contrast. Here are a few different ways you can use your lettering / patterns to dress them up a bit!
XOXO with the brush pen - The most important thing to remember with this one is when you are moving your brush pen down use heavy pressure (or thick lines) and when you are moving your brush pen up use light pressure (or thin lines). Draw your first XOXO, then leave some space and draw another in line with the first until you finish an entire row. Then when you start the next row, offset the XOXO and draw it below the space from the row above. Continue until the entire bag is filled. This could be done with any word or name as well!
Mini hearts with the brush pen - For this one you’ll use the brush pen side and create two small lines to make a heart shape. You can create a pattern by drawing a heart, then leave some space, heart, space, etc. until an entire row is filled. Then when you draw the next row draw the hearts below the space above. Continue until the entire bag is filled. This one goes pretty fast and you can vary the sizes of your hearts.
Love with the fine-liner marker - For this one you’ll be doing the Monoline Bounce Script that we learned in the workshop and that is in the workbook. Choosing a short word or name will work best and be the easiest. I did this one on a diagonal to create some visual interest. And followed the same instructions as above to create a pattern look.
Name with a brush pen or fine-liner marker - For this one you can write the person’s name. You could do it in more of a script like the example (remember down is thick and up is thin). But you could also do it in all caps, in a monoline script or just your regular handwriting too! I like to draw the name really big to it fills up the entire bag, but you can draw it smaller as well!
I hope this gives you a few ideas for what you could do to dress up your treat bags! I love the idea of adding in stripes, or a grid or some sort as well. Or even some floral doodles from the workbook. There are a lot of options so be creative!!
