How to Use
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Flower press, fresh flowers, scissors
INSTRUCTIONS:
-
Step 1: Choose the flowers that you would like to press. Look for flowers that are thin and small enough to fit into the press. Trim off stems or excess leaves or petals to make your flower as thin as possible so it will be easier to press.
-
Step 2: Assemble your press. You’ll need to add the screws into the four holes in the corners of the press, then a layer of cardboard, paper and then lay in your flowers. Cover with another paper and cardboard, then repeat until you have used all the papers. Then add the other wood piece onto the screws, add the washers and then the bolts. Tighten the bolts so that none of the flowers or paper will fall out, but don’t tighten so much that it breaks the press.
-
Step 3: For the first week of pressing, check the flowers and replace paper if needed. You can use construction paper, parchment paper or even printer paper. I think replacing the paper is more common with flowers that are thick or wet when first pressed. After one week has passed leave the flowers for another week or two to completely dry.
